For 2026, The Possum is switching things up with an exciting new home at Owen Delany Park and trust us, it’s a good one.
With three course options - 5km, 11km, and 21km - The Possum truly is a race at your own pace, welcoming walkers, runners, first-timers, families, and seasoned trail legends alike. Whether you’re strolling under the stars, jogging with mates, or chasing a big night-time PB, there’s a Possum distance made just for you.
This year will glow with brand-new courses, an enchanted forest vibe, bridges to cross, and trails that feel made for after-dark adventure.
On the 11km and 21km, you’ll even hear the rumble of Huka Falls - pure Possum magic. Perfectly timed to land during the Taupō Winter Festival and the July school holidays, this new location is set to deliver a bigger glow, bolder trails, and a whole new chapter of Possum mischief. Get ready… the glow has been turned all the way up.
The Lendlenser Possum isn’t just a race; it’s a night-time takeover. Headlamps on, music up, and hundreds of entrants pouring onto the trails with one goal: soak up the chaos, the fun, and the magic of running after dark.
